Body parts and functions (Male/Female Reproductive Systems)

As promised, here are a list of different body parts found in both males and females, and their functions

Labia: part of female genitalia, protective layer for vagina

Sperm: male reproductive cell
Cannot divide, have a limited life span
Fuse with egg cells during fertilization

Vulva – external genital organs of a woman
Gateway to the uterus (womb)

Pubic Hair – body hair found in frontier genital area of humans

Ejaculation – discharge of semen (sperm) from males

Ovaries – Female reproductive organ

Cervix – Lower Part of the uterus in the female reproductive system

Menstruation (period)  -discharge of blood and tissue from the inner lining of the uterus through the vagina

Testicles – found in males, primary function is to produce sperm

Vagina - allows for sexual intercourse and childbirth, and channels menstrual flow

Bladder -  is a hollow muscular organ that collects urine from the kidneys before disposal by urination

Uterus – female hormone reproductive organ
Fetus develops within the uterus

Fallopian Tubes - very fine tubes lined with, leading from the ovaries of into the uterus

Estrogen – primary female sex hormone responsible for development of female reproductive system

Scrotum – Sack of skin and smooth muscle that protects the testicles

Erection - penis becomes firmer, engorged and enlarged
Can be spontaneous, or due to sexual arousal

Urethra - connects the urinary bladder to the for the removal of fluids from the body (releases fluids out of the penis or vagina)

Foreskin – smooth layer of skin that protects the head of the penis

Penis – primary sex organ in males that is used during sexual intercourse

Prostate Gland – found in males, primary function is to produce semen

Clitoris – female sex organ, very sensitive

Seminal Vesicles – pair of glands which add fluid to the sperm

Epididymis – a tube on the surface of each testicles which stores and transports sperm

Vaginal Secretions – lubrication around the vagina
