Grade 6 Substance Use and Addiction Review

Here are the topics to review:

- What is a drug?
- 4 different types of substances (tobacco, alcohol, prescription/legal drugs, illegal drugs)
- What is the legal age to purchase alcohol or tobacco in ONTARIO
- What are "over-the-counter" drugs?
-  What is marijuana? What are some of its street names?
- What is marijuana made up of (what plant does it come from)?
- How can cannabis be consumed?
- What are the short term and long term affects of cannabis use?
- What other problems (criminal, educational, ect) problems are associated with cannabis use?
- What is addiction?
- How many deaths per year are linked to drug overdose? (in the United States)
- How much does drug abuse cost per year (in United States)
- What is withdrawal?
- Who are come community helpers? (ex. Police, Kids Help Phone, Community Centre, trusted adult)
- What is peer pressure?
- What are the 4 steps to stand up to peer pressure?
- What is THC? How does it enter the brain?
- What is medical marijuana? What is it used for?
- Who are your influences? (parents/guardians, friends/peers, legal consequences, coaches, teachers, ect.)
- What is cyberbullying?
- What are the health-related issues associated with cyberbullying?

  2. The test was pretty easy. There was some questions that I did not understand at all. Overall, it was not to difficult and not way to easy. I'm glad that the test was fair enough. Thank you for teaching us, Mr Alexopoulos! I really appreciate it.
